HOME ARTWORK PROJECTS & EVENTS ARTISTS CV

My work is best described as a collection of time
capsules, with varied medium I attempt to represent
hints of memories and preservation, linked strongly
to diseases such as Alzheimer's. Historians suggest
that the most useful time capsules are those that
represent everyday life. Snippets of a real life in
personal photographs, letters and journals are rich
with information, rather than a bland collection of
anonymous objects. With my work I try to reveal a
story, giving history to a person, place and object.
I enjoy working with found objects and developing a
history based on their appearance and where they were
found. With this my work become site specific,
influenced by an objects surroundings and
information I pick up through people and research.
Other materials I use are often influenced by this
research. Through the use of drawing, sculpture
and text I take the viewer on a journey through the
development and preservation of memories to the
inevitable failure of memory and misinterpretation.
