I am a visual artist, interested in provoking thoughts about memory. Making viewers aware of the struggles that people face daily with diseases such as Alzheimer’s, and encouraging them to think of the preciousness of even the simplest of memories that they have. Through a varied medium I discuss how memories make us who we are, how we analyse and edit our past in our minds, creating a labyrinth of feelings, people and moments in time. I am interested in the idea of memory as identity; with loss of memory comes the loss of ourselves, our life’s path slowly erasing behind us. I am equally interested in how we hold onto our memories; preserving them in our minds, in text and image or representing them with objects.
